Hi hoping someone can either answer these or point me to a source that might have the answers. I've tried wiki, LR-mad and some other forums but not really found the info I'm after.

I'm only interested in information for the early BMW powered L322's

- what gearbox does the V8 and diesel use exactly?
- what transfer box?
- front and rear suspension travel vs a Range Rover Sport
- HDC is it variable speed control or is it a static setting like the Freelander 1
- are there any common major mechanical components with the D3/RRS?

Thanks.

Have you checked out TOPIX?

The only things I can do off the top of my head:

  • HDC - AFAIK, it's static.
  • Major components... None. The D3/RRS was the start of the major overhaul by Ford.

Pre-facelift:

M62 - GM 5L40E & NV225 transfer box
M57 - ZF 5HP24 & NV225 transfer box

Suspension travel - ~19cm F, ~29cm R. Think the Sports with Dynamic Response have greater travel at the front

HDC - from memory the cruise buttons can change the speed as they can in the later ones

Not much major shared
