Keep getting this message on the 2011MY Vogue. Any idea what is likely to have made it faulty please chaps? It sometimes resets by turning off and restarting by the way.

It'll be a sensor somewhere, telling the ECU that there's a problem... However, to work out which one, you'll need to get it plugged into the diagnostics kit.

Call in on a local dealer & get them to have a quick look for you, especially as it's still very much under warranty.

Thanks, it's booked in. I look forward to an hour drinking coffee and reading the paper - a rare treat.

How spooky. Driving home today had the same come up on the dash. Need to ring up dealer tomorrow.
Wonder if they had a dodgy batch of sensors?

This was really useful and saved me hundreds of pounds by taking the car to the LRG. Such a simple fix Thank you

Nice one.

Was it the O/S/F wires by any chance?

(In my opinion it should warrant a recall)

Great, mine's just gone too. First reaction was "Simple fix Rich, pull over, switch off, lock, unlock, switch on, it'll re set itself."

It didn't.

Left it in the staff car park for a few hours, I'll see if it's resolved at 5:00. Ugh...

I swear (hope) the car is doing it in protest after not being washed for 5 weeks.

Take it in to your Land Rover dealer. You'll at least get it washed free of charge.

Not half a bad shout, that. Great idea!

Someone did say to me the other day "You're car is such a lovely blue on top, why did you get the bottom half sprayed brown?"

Normally I clean my cars once a week but we've just moved to the middle of nowhere and it's completely pointless washing them - 2 miles down the road, they're covered again. banghead

and said wash will add scratches/swirls/holograms to your paintwork!

my dealer knows they are NEVER to wash my car

if you don't care about your paint then accept the 'free wash' which is of course not FREE as its built into the price

bit like Tesco carrier bags - they are not free, but built into the price structure

very good, lol

it does amaze me that dealers in these high value cars do not 'educate' their valeters in basic good practice like the 'two bucket' method?

I was recently given a lift home by one of these valeters and asked a lot of pertinent questions (before my disability got too bad I was quite 'into' detailing)

basically he knew nothing - used Autosmart because it was available (don't get me wrong Autosmart do some good products - such as Tardis) but he knew nothing about wax/sealants etc but is let loose on £100K plus cars????

I recall picking up a brand new Vogue from a dealership in the Midlands that I cannot name for naming and shaming rules (their name rhymes with "fart well"). It was Buckingham blue metallic and they had butchered it so badly it looked like brushed aluminium. I think they must have used a sanding disc instead of polishing mop.

polishing mop? - yes, probably the same one used to clean the showroom floor?

it's no surprise that many owners of new high end cars get a detailer to correct the paint etc before they take delivery?

apparently these days even Rolls Royce paintwork can be corrected

I've had the paint corrected on my car at considerable cost - there were no big problems just the usual swirls/scratches/holograms

but it is now better than the day it left the factory which is not saying a lot - lol

Agreed. LR paint can be horrible

Back on topic (briefly!!)

I had a quick peek under the bonnet on Saturday and easily found the broken wire, poking out of the O/S suspension mount.

45 mins later, I'd stripped it back (sounds extreme, it was just 2 bolts), soldered the wire, wrapped it and put it all back together - works perfectly now. No need for a replacement part or a bill for labour - so quick and so easy to fix!

Back to paint - mine needs proper mopping and detailing. I polished it before Le Mans last year, it looked 10 times better but in certain light it was obviously covered in swirl marks. I know a great local chap for this, he charges £200 and takes 2 days - great value! (until you drive it 2 miles down the road)
