Oil Change -- Freelander 2

Hi there,
Havent done an oil change on my [diesel] FL2 yet and was wondering how many litres of oil you would need with filter a change plus i've been told you only use 5-30 fully synth oil is this correct.

Apologies for a slight thread hijack.

If one is going to make an oil change at half intervals but Cba with the faff of that inaccessible filter what about extraction ofthe old oil wwith a pump?

Or is synthetic oil so good these days that it's just chucking good money away to reduce change intervals?

Have heard that some are already reducing change intervals on dpf vehicles due to fuel contamination.
