discovery 4 hse
Discussion
I have a new disco 4 hse luxury.
The side steps are large items mounted from underneath and protrude to allow you to step up into the vehicle.
I don't have them on mine, I don't like the way they protrude .
The tread plates mount on the inside sills of the car on all four doors. They are for trim finishing and protecting the thresholds from shoe and boot scuff marks.
I do have them fitted to my car, and they were supplied and fitted by the dealer from new.
HTH.

landrover charges nearly £1000 for discovery 4 sidesteps (purchase and fit)
Is it worth it or can I get this done cheaper elsewhere?
I do need to have them.
Thanks
I am sure you could find somebody who might discount them, but not by much.Is it worth it or can I get this done cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks
Personally on such an expensive car that is almost new I would only go to an authorised dealer.
It's quite a big job to do,,so LR dealers best.
IMHO.
wouldnt bother with the lifeshine stuff, you are basically paying them to prep your car properly and put some products on it you could buy yourself
...just another way they try to increase profit per sale;
"lifeshine" - £400
gap insurance - £500
"smart cover" - £500 (paying up front for a few chips away style repairs to wheels/body)
the car is then covered for 3 years so when you trade it in with them it looks better...saving them prep money the next time
/sorry a bit cynical with "list price" these days and you turn up and realise £2K has gone on the price you saw advertised

Also if you are getting a good discount, they are just trying to claw back some profit.
I had none of those on my new disco, despite a very hard sell by the local dealership.
They also tried to sell me a 3 year service plan, that seemed to cost exactly the same amount as three annual, services!
I declined, knowing that you can shop around at LR dealers these days and get them to beat each others quotes on servicing.

Can the tyre pressure be fitted into the car in the future if I decide to go ahead with it?
Thanks
I believe it can be retrofitted, take a look over at www.disco3.co.ukThanks

I don't have it, and I don't think it's worth it, too many reports of it not being worth the extra cost!
