I phoned around loads of dealers last week. Some had twenty pre orders but loads had under 12 and one had only 6.
Your point?M
If you are number 7 on the list you are likely to get your car much quicker than you are if you are 23rd. Therefore if you want to have one of the first cars on the road, phone around the dealers and find one with a small list. Hope that clarifies.

Yes it does clarify, thnx... It's only coz your original post reads slightly differently if you give it a bit of a sarcastic spin.

It is also a good idea to ask the dealer about expected allocations - though of course you could be lied to by the salesman.
When I phoned around I was also asking each dealer about their waiting list and allocations for the new RR. Most had dozens of orders for the different engines and quoted several months, but I found one who is fairly certain I will take delivery in May - so I paid a deposit.
It also has to be said that with the new RR it is not a strict rotation of the list. Number 1 on the list may want a V8 but sixth may want a V6 so could quite easily get a car quicker - I hope that makes sence, but that is what the dealers told me.
A further point of interest - They all tell you there is a waiting list, but if you persist and are happy to have a very highly pre specced car, there are physical cars with immediate delivery (I found 2 - both SE with lots of bits and in the 90K region)
Must admit I am in no real rush but thought the salesman at Guy Salmon in Ascot was very friendly, helpful and not at all pushy.I am sure I can use my charm and my wife`s good looks to push us up the waiting list if need`s be.
I am sure I read somewhere about a TDV8 coming out in this model at a slightly later date.(may well of been dreaming)If that is the case I would happily wait a few extra months as its an engine I loved dearly in my old RR Sport.

Yes but the latest V6 is far, far better than the previous one, I am sure I read somewhere about a TDV8 coming out in this model at a slightly later date.(may well of been dreaming)If that is the case I would happily wait a few extra months as its an engine I loved dearly in my old RR Sport.
Make sure when you specc your car u don't go for the colour in the leaked photo!!! (though I realize some people will love the colour)

Imho that colour is not something I would go for.Make sure when you specc your car u don't go for the colour in the leaked photo!!! (though I realize some people will love the colour)
Never understand why these car companies use strange off the wall colours on the promo cars.
Like the idea though of the roof being available in a different colour like the Evoke.
As to the engine,I was hoping that if there is a TDV8 it would have that gorgeous roar and grunt that made me love our old one.

i saw 6 New RRS heading towards Stratford Upon Avon today very very nice, best way to describe it was the front is very similar in the flesh to the Evoque and the rear is like the new range Rover, seemed smaller than the current sport though.
Hmm... We're expecting it to be bigger! We'll have to wait and see!Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
