HELP PLEASE - FFRR L322 TD6 2004

I have purchased an ODBII scanner for my RR to assist diagnosis of what I think is a faulty injector.

I have plugged scanner in and started scan but car is not communicating with the scanner. I have tested scanner on three other cars and all work fine, albeit none are Range Rovers.

Is there a special procedure to follow or has anyone experienced a similar potential fault. Car has been to dealers on many occasions and no problems have been highlighted with comms and their autologic equipment.

I have tried to scan both as a Land Rover and BMW but no joy.

Any advice appreciated.
