Keen to hear people's opinions and experiences of getting a new or nearly new Range Rover Sport or an Evoque on a PCP deal?

Realistically I'd need 5000 miles a year and would do it over 4 years?

Example prices? Experiences etc?

Well, PCP deals aside, I owned a MY12 Evoque Si4 Dynamic with all options for a year and it is a great car. It handles very well and is genuinely capable off-road.

However, I changed it for a MY12 RRS because the RRS is:

1. More spacious but still not huge which suits me.
2. More luxurious - not hugely, but a little more so than my RRE Dynamic. Possible the same as a RRE Prestige?
3. More comfortable to drive in and soaked up bumps in the road better.
4. Not as quick around corners but close enough for me - far more composed than my Disco 4 was.
5. The electrically closing boot closes with a pleasing 'thunk', a solid close whereas the RRE does so with a slight 'click'. This is typical of everything - the RRS seems more solid. Weighs a ton more so not surprised but it is nicer.

With the new RRS model imminent I went for a demo car and have been very happy with it. It feels like a nicer place to be than the RRE - it sits higher, is more comfortable and you know it is more capable off-road if needed. On road it is much better than the Disco 4 but not quite as quick as the RRE Si4 but matches the SD4 if not beats.

If you don't need the boot space and don't intend to go off-road I'd seriously look at the RRE. If space and off-road come into play and you like the 'command-view' driving position along with air-suspension pothole-soaking comfort, then the RRS is the car you'd prefer.

I was able to sell my RRE for almost as much as I paid for it so little depreciation in my case. Dunno about now though that they are easier to get hold of.

Whether either car is for you or not, I'll leave you to sort out. smile

Regarding the funding, I would suggest that if you are looking at a late/low mileage example of either car - compare new against used before you do anything.

Higher GFV's, lower rates and deposit contributions often make buying a new car cheaper than buying a used one.

LRF's PCP packages have a minimum 8K per annum parameter, but that only really means that you will have more equity in the vehicle at the end of the term.

You are not tied in for the full term, you can settle at any time and they will deduct any outstanding interest due to that point bar one months interest charged as an admin fee.

You can also "overpay" on these agreements now, so if you draw dividends/comission and have some spare cash at any point, you can reduce the monthly outgoings and consequently, the amount of interest payable. You can do this as often, and for as much as you like throughout the agreement without any penalty.

You should get a little help from the dealer with Evoque now, but you will get a great deal on Sport, with the new model due later this year.
