Hi Guys,

I have just bought a Range Rover s/c from a good friend. It has FRRSH and has done 64,000miles. It is all in very good condition but there is a slight vibration from the front diff. Range rover (lookers) in wandsworth had a look. They agree it is a small vibration but cant offer anything apart from a new diff, which of course is very expensive.

I know that some of the earlier MK3 Range Rovers had a front diff recall (with new bits fitted), but apparently mine is not in that number group.

Does anyone have any ideas as I would really like to get it fixed as it is a bit annoying and otherwise the vehicle is spot on, if a tad thirsty!

Any thoughts? Or any good independents in the surrey area that might help?

cheers

p.s. I am happy with Lookers.

Mine gets around 11 mpg around town and anything up to about 23 mpg if I drive it gently on motorways.

Sorry though, I can't help with the diff problem!

I average about 16mpg. Just driving at a 'good' speed. Not going crazy.

you will NEVER get higher than 20mpg.

But the engine is just fantastic, you dont need to rev it due to lots of low down grunt.

I would suggest a full oil change + some additive and see how it sounds after?
