Had my EGR systems replaced with blanking plates
Discussion
So I had the classic EGR valve problems no acceleration, smoke on my 07 Built Disco 3 2.7 HSE EU4 spec.
I knew blanking plates would work for 06 and earlier EU3 models but there didn't seem to be a fix for 07 and beyond 2.7d because of the EU4 stuff.
Spoke to CVP ( details in LR Contact wiki) he assured me he could use blanking plates and remap the ECU to turn off the warning lights etc. Bottom line CVP changed installed the blanking plates, remapped the ECU, I am getting 30.2 MPG from 26.7mpg after 400 miles and I am happy.

I've had both (for the uninitiated, there's one for each zorst manifold on the V6) EGR vavles fail now on my '08 Disco3, 12 months apart. I too noticed improved economy once the duff vavle was replaced, but I wonder how long that lasts.
FWIW, this sounds like a widespread component issue and, for my money, somthing LR really should have done under warranty/recall and dumped at the component suppliers door, rather than onto their customers.
