hello my v8 friends,i got tvr wedge 350i. it tickover ok,but as soon as you go rev it ,it will not rev up,but if you rev it very slowly,the rev.s go up,any ideas would be great,

assuming the car has injection and you have done the usual making sure nothing is blocked, leads are connected, etc then the Air Flow Meter should be your first port of call
then the timing
then the coil and leads
Then the dizzy
Then the ECU
then Austec racing!

To test the air flow meter ... just unplug it... the ecu will go to a default setting and engine will run quite well without it.

Common fallacy; if an engine runs better with the MAF unplugged it does NOT prove a faulty MAF; it proves that there is a difference between the metered air value from the MAF and the actual mass air flow into the engine. Most air leaks are diagnosed as MAF failures because of opinions like that shown above.

The document below was very helpful in sorting a friends V8 3.5 with similar issues, timing fine tuning sorted the hesitation and intake back fires in the end.
