I have done the research, using real life, auto trader and forums.

Motorways your looking no more then 25

running around, depending on how heavy your foot.. 10-15mpg
12mpg seems to be what most people are getting though.

My mate has one, he regularly drops below 10, however he is fairly heavy footed, he tows with it, and runs about (less then 5 miles at a time)

Just to add, at 12 mpg your looking at 49 pence per mile..
Fuel near me is £1.30 a litre..
Ill add the rest later.

I am also looking at getting one soon, hence the geeky maths

My Sport has never done more than 15mpg.

It did about 13mpg average when standard. Cats removed and it jumped to 15mpg. Supercharger upgrade and it's about 12/13mpg. Obviously it has more poke.......!

Towing used to be 8.5, but is now about 11mpg.

Hope that helps.

Where are the cats?
Are they under the car, or on the downpipes?

12-14 for me, that's combined driving.

When a little more heavy footed then a fair bit less...!

Under the stairs at work. winkhehe

Downpipes, just after the manifolds. Be aware you will need to get replacement pipes made up, will need to cut the cats out and live with an engine management light on permanently (apparently there is an emissions fault!!). I must get round to finding someone who can remap the ecu to stop checking the lambda sensors.

Managed 21.2mpg at the weekend over a decent m-way and A-road run, with c19mpg on smaller roads. Urban driving down in the 16-17mpg range. This is on a 2010 5li supercharged.

I have a diesel to avoid the eye watering costs (already have one V8 in the fleet). My audi V8 (S5) returns 26 on a run with a light foot so I'd be amazed if an oversized house brick could do 25.

avg 18mpg in 4.2 supercharged (versus the newer 5.0l) but then I don't do a lot of town driving, I head out of the village to motorway/A roads

in stop start traffic or pressing on B roads, using the performance, then low teens is easy to see

Max i've seen is 21mpg on a steady 70mph motorway run (but whats the point in having the Supercharged in this scenario).

Usual consumption is between 16 and 18 which i can live with.
