Its seems the fan is permanently on, on my p38 4.6. Temperature is fine and its not using any water so I'm guessing something simple like a thermostat - any thoughts anyone?

I'll pop it into the garage, but thought I's ask in case its a simple fix.

Thanks

James

what year is it? theyare the auxillary a/c fans. They come on when the a/c pressure is high and the engine fans are not drawing enough air. (idling in traffic for example)
Early P38's were driven direct from the hvac unit (centre console computer with the fan dial), later ones are similar but it went via a relay.

Its a 99 Eliot, and it happens from the second I turn the engine on.

99 should be via a relay i think. You might be lucky and its a stuck relay, identify it and swap it with a similar one, front or rear heated screen or the interior fan blower relays are good canditates.

Had it down the local garage, tried the relays and a switch but still comes on all the time, even on start up from cold. Anymore thoughts before I take it down to a specialist?

Thanks
