Sourcing a service history

I have a 1995 Range Rover Classic which I have just had completely restored. However the service history has been mislaid. I know these records can be re-created by speaking to the original supplying dealer, but this car was originally a Land Rover-owned vehicle from new (ie no supplying dealer as such). Land Rover themselves apparently don't give this sort of information out (privacy of information laws or something apparently) so I'm stuck.
Does anyone happen to have any idea how I might chase this? It isn't the end of the world but would be a nice thing to have for such a lovely old vehicle. Any assistance much appreciated!
