fitting 3rd front seat in new style defender 90 XS?

Hi

Going through Autotrader I spotted a 2008 90 XS which had a 3rd seat fitted in the front. I just wondered if anyone else had done this, if it was a factory option (not seen it before on the newer model), any idea re costs and if it would affect insurance etc?

Having 3 kids, it would be good for me to be able to take 5 people on occasion so it would mean I could buy a newer 90 rather than having to get the old 6 seater.

AFAIK this was not a factory option.

The alarm bell ringing in my mind is that the middle seat will be a lap belt, where as these days they should be 3 point. Also, if you are involved in a shunt, the middle passenger will probably get the gearstick through their head!!
