Does anyone have any tips for the Sat Nav in the Disco 4 - car is a 2012 HSE and I just find it wonderfully rubbish.

Example: went to Kent from North Hampshire last weekend. As it happens it took me the way I would have / was going to go anyway, just put the route in for timing estimate.... Went South Newbury to Basingstoke to M3 J6.

On return, it wanted us to go from M25 to M4, but i just turned off onto the M3 anyway... Wife notices there is no junction 6 on the motorway exits and it tried to send us via the A303/A34... Is it just rubbish or is it user error, if anyone can confirm I would be much obliged.

Thanks

edit to add: This is just one example, the fact the Sat Nav will always avoid the A34 if possible from Oxford to Southampton is another of many mysteries....

Yet I find it not bad, and certainly better than the Mrs' Garmin which takes one up narrow single track lanes on the basis that the route is 2 feet shorter than a reasonably quick B road.

Where the LR satnav does fall down is the speed and logic of reroutes. Sometimes it figures out a reroute perfectly well. Other times it seems to be desperate to get you back onto the original route, even using the most stupid routing and the only solution seems to be to get the passenger wink to cancel the existing guidance, then start a new route to the previous destination based on a new start point, ie where you are at that moment. Then it seems on mine to come up with a sensible(ish) route.
