advice on a Buying a TD6 Vogue

I'm looking at buying a TD6 Vogue with a budget of 12k
I have noticed many adverts mention the gearbox has been replaced... whats the issue here??
Also this car is only to be used for towing a caravan so not as a main car... would you consider a Petrol one running on LPG??? would i get simaler running costs..

So what should I be looking for?? any advice very welcome!!!

My perfect one would be one with a Overfinch body kit and wheels with a td6 unit...

Gearbox can be an issue on the TD6. Not on all of them, but it is a weak point. Mapped cars or ones used for towing more so.

Personally you'll buy more V8 for your money at this price range. And unless you are doing a lot of miles the actual fuel costs may not vary so much. The V8 is faster, smoother and uses a different gearbox (true for early BMW V8 powered ones and latter Jag V8 powered ones).

LPG is an option, but it's pricey to get fitted yourself.
