2010 5L V8 Supercharged
Discussion
Hi Guy's,
I am thinking about buying a 2010 autobiography 5L V8 supercharged.
Does anyone know what I should actually expect to get plodding around town at 30-40mph and also on the motorway hovering around 100mph.
Is there anything to look out for when purchasing?
Also, LPG conversions, is this possible ??

they're supposed to be a bit more efficient than the 4.2 s/c
I have a 4.2 s/c - just put the juice in and don't worry about it would be my advice
you can go lpg but its recommended to get a flash lube system fitted as well for valve protection.
all depends on how many miles you do whether it would be cost effective to have the system fitted

I have had four of them, fantastic cars. You should get 15-17 at these speeds and about 19-20 on motorways at 75 MPH 'ish. These are indicated figures from the trip computer, I never actually checked them for accuracy so they could be slightly optimistic. Don't let anyone talk you in to buying a diesel or converting petrol to LPG. I am thinking about buying a 2010 autobiography 5L V8 supercharged.

My mum has a 2009 5.0 overfinch so a bit more power than standard and she averages 14mpg with town driving and motorways. Best I have had out it was 25mpg at 60-70'with a tail wind. Sitting at 100 I would think single figures for mpg.
Going 30-40 constant maybe 25mpg but stop start teens again. These are from experience. Overall I would just try and not look at the fuel economy :/

Its an absolute beast, you wont be dissapointed.
I've driven a 4.4 petrol vogue, a 2.7 diesel old range, a 4.2 sport and I now own since over a year a 2011 5.0 spot autobiography.
Switch the traction to "Dynamic" mode and Gear into sport and you'll be beating entry level porches, 3 litre bmws and out cornering many of them too...!
Fantastic car and so practical, only not practical when filling up! Normal town driving I'd say anywhere between 9-14mpg and motorway at 60mph a good 20mpg , 80mph about 15-20mpg and 100mph youd be getting on a flat road about 12-14mpg.
Was looking at LPG conversion myself but that was a dead end so be interested to hear others findings..
Fantastic, epic car and at 509bhp is so much faster than the old 4.2 engine. Think there is a race on youtube between a 4.2 supercharged vs the new 5.0 from 0 to 100mph then brake back to 0mph....before the old 4.2 sport even touched 100mph the new 5litre had hit 100mph and braked to a stop...!

Mpg figures people are quoting sound right, if you drive it carefully there's not much between the s/c and the 4.4v8 petrol it's when your right foot gets heavy that the numbers go into single figures.
Stunning cars to drive, there's plenty of documented stuff on what to look out for, check out full fat range rover forum, lots on there.
Don't go for LPG even with the flash lube as the valve seats aren't up to it unlike the earlier BMW engine. You will find people that tell you it's fine but you usually find they've only done 20k so far which isn't enough miles for the problem to surface.
Go for it, you'll love driving it, sitting in it and just looking at it!
