Thought I would pop up a few photo's of my 110 which I will be driving in the "Rallye de Cimes" the weekend after next with Matthew Cooper (Sonic) as my navigator, was a bit of a squeeze getting all 6 foot 5 inches of him in the car but he fits so both of us are well happy and can't wait for the start.

It was 20 years ago I last did the "Cimes" also in a Defender 90, we won't be winning, but will for sure be going to dazzle the opposition. It goes very well and should hold our own in class, but most important thing is to finish with the car and both of us in one piece.

Before the mods.

After the mods.

That paint job is certainly, er, unsilenced. Good luck on the Rallye.

Any special modifications ...like 2 or 3 inner tubes per wheel or just chancing it.

Did the Rallye de Cimes 20 years ago when it was a lot tougher then than it is now also in a Defender and we did suffer a few tyre problems but I feel that running stronger tyres and driving for a finish should help, never been keen on running tubes as once the bladder has burst it will without doubt go flat, yes I know the similar thing can happen without tubes as regards de-beading but with higher pressures and a monitoring system I do feel confident, time will tell.

So much looking forward to getting down there and reccing the stages on the quad.

Good luck Andy! A big truck to do the Des Cimes in ;-)

Paul Wood and I competed in the des Cimes in 2002 but sadly broke the Bowler by wrapping the back axle around a large tree. Shame because that is an event I really wanted to finish :-( epic scenery and great atmosphere.

The black and white photographs on the wall of the bar in Licq-Atherey are very impressive - old Jeeps etc with a beret and wooly jumper as safety equipment.

I agree, great paint job, is that all done by masking with the exception of the sign writing?
