So I just ordered a new Defender 90 from Twisted. I held off from specifying the aftermarket stereo upgrade 1. Because I wasn't sure what configuration I wanted and 2. Because I suspected I could do it cheaper. So here is my challenge: the defender is single Din as standard, there is an aftermarket kit to upgrade to Double din available but it is fairly major surgery and therefore expensive. A 'slide-out' screen system will fit but when the screen is out they obscure sme of the buttons on the defender dashboard. Tbh I dont think I need Sat nav built in, I dont do that many long journeys and I have just recently acquired a TomTom Go which is a fantastic device (much better than the fitted sat nav's in any other car I have used). I do want DAB but have heard reports that the reception can be a bit patchy, this is certainly the case on our Evoque. Is this the norm? I do want to stream music from my iPhone so I don't really need a CD slot. Obviously I do need Bluetooth. I have had a good look around and this looks like the best option to me - Kenwood KDC-BT73DAB (http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-kdc-bt73dab-_p-31197.htm ) but I would be interested to hear what others think... max budget around £300-£400

Talk to Greg at Auto Audio in Park Royal, if you are anywhere near London. He did mine for the last owner, and it is a fairly hefty system - Amp under the floor, sub under the passenger seat, speakers all over the place, all very stealthy. Several thousand pounds worth of kit, all Morel Audio and Kenwood. It is a deeply lovely system - and my car is soundproofed like a Twisted vehicle, which is pretty important if you're going to have a nice hi-fi!

They are not just a stereo specialist - they are an unadvertised Land Rover specialist, and for certain clients will build a truck from the ground up (they did mine for the last owner, who sent his whole fleet to them).

Just one thing.....
Yer know that bit in Good Morning Vietnam where Adrian Cronauer pretends to be a phone-in guest and says.....
"My name's Bob Fliber!"
"And what do you do Bob?"
"I'm in artillery!"
"And what can we play for you today?"
"Anything! Just play it loud....ok?!"

That's what listening to anything in a Defender is like.

It depends on what you're going to use the 110 for... Remember, water & electronics don't mix!!!

I used to have a fairly hefty system in my 110 but kept the vital parts well out of harms way. The head unit was mounted in the cubby box with the amp, rear speakers & bass speaker mounted in the roof.
