Discovery 4 MT wheel/tyre options
Discussion
With the greatest of respect, google could have thrown up answers instantly.
The d3 website lists all the tyres sizes that you can use for the D3 and D4. I've bought tyes from 4x4tyres.co.uk in the past and they have been very good.
If memory serves, your choices are limited to tyres like the General Tyres AT2 and Pirelli Scorpions. There is the Goodyear Wrangler, but that is quite expensive.
You get more choice if you go down the 17in alloy used on lower spec D3s like the S models

With the greatest respect, google threw up a load of kahn-style 22" rubbish and little useful information, hence the thread. The d3 website lists all the tyres sizes that you can use for the D3 and D4. I've bought tyes from 4x4tyres.co.uk in the past and they have been very good.

Also, I don't think 17s fit the Disco 4, but would be happy to be corrected.
Anyway, after a bit more searching today I found some useful stuff on the Arizona LROC site.
Here you go. Its literally the first page that comes u with you search discovery 3 mud tyres!

Great, but I asked about Discovery 4s, which have larger brakes, hence not all D3 options are suitable. Even with your masterful use of Google, you seem to have not answered my OP No LR 20" D3 rim currently

Standard wheel size for D4 is 19" which would be fitted with a 255/55x19 tyre with option of 20" and fitted with 255/50x20.
19" options are General AT, Goodyear Duratrac, Cooper LTZ and many Winter tyre options, depends on you requirements.
20" in standard size is almost a non starter but many go 275/45x20 which opens the door a little, General AT, Cooper LTZ etc with many Winter tyre options, again what's your poison ?
Hope this helps.

The most aggressive tyre for 19" on a D4 would be the Goodyear Duratrac
I'm not sure that's actually true.As you can get these:
255/50R19 Ziarelli Mud Power

http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/product-info.php?p...
Sadly Awaiting stock however.
Not sure what legalities there are on speed ratings, but almost all aggressive mud terrains are speed rated and people fit them to V8 classic Range Rovers no problem, despite the fact they can be pretty quick.
Weight I agree, although I would be surprised if they weren't ok. A D110 or D130 are fairly chunky and have high MAM's and I'm sure people use similar tyres on those.
But I agree, it would be worthwhile checking out first.
