Got a 2007 RRS TDV8 with 20" wheels and have fitted winter tyres. I've set the pressures at 33/36 as per the manual, but the car seems to have more noticeable understeer now, especially at slow speed.

I fully understand that winter tyres 'move' around more due to the way they're made.

My tyre fitter reckons I should run them at the fully laden recommendation of 38/42.

Any thoughts?

If they're 'Brand Spanking', give them a couple of hundred miles to bed in as it could just be the releasing agent.

No; I used them last winter so they're scrubbed in.

Maybe they'll work better when the temperature drops?

Try +4psi all round, works well with Vredestein.
