Much as I like Range Rovers (really I do, especially Sports), why do they seem to want to stay in lane three?

I tell myself I'm imagining it, then I find myself behind another who doesn't want to move over.

It's not a performance thing, as in the main they are diesel.

Any thoughts?

I think this is a consequence of the cars in front of the RR?

I drive a RR and find myself in Lane 3 constantly stuck behind other traffic which refuses to move over despite there being plenty of room in the middle lane. It seems these cars are afraid to move over in case they can't pull back out again?

My recent observations are that Lane 3 is the new middle lane, it's a shame that under taking at speed is not legal.

Because the person in the RR is really important, much more important than you are. (And possibly has a micro cock)

My experience is we are stuck in the slow moving train because someone at the head thinks 60mph in lane 3 is a suitable speed.

Plus the rest of the great unwashed think it's fine to stay in lane 2 at 50-60mph and lane 1 is miles of open free road, but undertaking is frowned on now..

I now find that with traffic hogging the outside and middle lane the inside lane seems to be free of traffic so…………..I use the inside lane and await the pull from plod. I must add that I make risk assessment at each pass and when passing the lead cars in lanes two and three who seem to be stuck at or very near the NSL I get the look down the nose look. Well move the bloody f*** over when you have passed the car you have just overtaken!!

I've a TDV8, they may be diesel but they're not slow! smile. I cruise up and down the M4 everyday at 100mph when the lane in front of me allows it. If anyone comes up behind me I pull over and let them by, but it's rare. 90% of my motorway time is spent waiting for the car(s) infront to move over to let me by.

I'm generally impressed by most of the other RRs I see on the M4, on the whole they seem to be sat in the traffic , in the correct lane, holding no one up. Certainly no more than any other car.

Sports though, they're a whole other kettle of fish! laugh

....and you think breaking the speed limit by 30% whenever possible is acceptable?
