Hi folks,

I've recently purchased a 2004 TD4 auto freelander for my wife to drive (and for me to tow my MX bike!! biggrin ) but was wondering if there was a good, reliable service specialist somewhere in Warwickshire region?

I'm currently working in Italy, and my wife is with me, so it has to be fairly local to Stratford on Avon as I'll be asking my mother-in-law to take it for a service before it gets driven out here. I did enquire at our local Guy Salmon LR dealer, but they wanted nearly £300 for a basic service, and as ours doesn't have FLRSH I didn't see the benefit.

And is there anything specific to watch out for on these? It seems fairly robust and tidy, but its always good to know what to possibly expect smile

All help greatly appreciated.

JE Engineering is next to Coventry Airport. Good but not cheap.

Make sure it's one that knows the Freebee AND the TD4...

You've got all the usual bits to look for on a Freelander but specifically on the TD4, if the crank case filter isn't changed at the correct intervals, it can cause serious damage.

You could also try IRB developments. I've worked with Ian for years at JLR and his knowledge of the TD engines is extensive to say the least. All of the people I've recommended him to have come away happy and he's just up in Tamworth I think.
