As above, am looking at a 10 plate GS but this has the lesser 2.7TDV6 Auto. I appreciate the later engine is better but what is the real world MPG on this unit?

I also assume this has the earlier 6 speed rather than 8 speed auto, anybody able to answer that?

Are there any issues I need to be aware of in general?

Not sure if this is any help but, I have a 61 plate 2012MY Disco 4. It has the 8-speeder and the 3 litre SDV6. I get 28-29 generally, and 31-32 on a long run.

D3 2.7 with AT tyres 23mpg on avg over 60k miles.
On a run get 28 if gentle.

Pre MY12 8 speed you can expect around 24 average, move to the 8 speed and it will be more like 28 average.
Know loads of people who own these and the MPG doesn't seem to change between any of them.

My D3 gives 28 average, 30 on a run. Indicated, not calculated, mind you.

In 8k miles over the past year, my 2012 SDV6 8-speed has returned 28.5mpg.

Here are the real world figures from my 2011 D4 (6 speed) and 2012 D4 (8 speed) They both had GG AT tyres fitted and they do a fair bit of off road including a lot of driving on forest tracks

Thanks everyone, it seems that 27 mpg is achievable.

Which is good considering that my FL2 was averaging 23 mpg......

Frankly, if you're getting 23mpg out of a FL2... With your driving, you're barely going to get into the teens on the Disco!!!

Yeah, I agree.

One of the sales guys who supplies me has had various Discos, 3's and 4's, 2.7 and 3.0 and he said the Disco is 24mpg pretty much all the time, but the other day he was in his wifes FL2 and said it was nice to it averaging 34mpg.

So if you're getting 23 in a FL2 then expect about 17 in a Disco.
