2011 RRS HSE Battery easily drained
Discussion
A little incident in the car last week meant I had to spend some time doing clean-up to get rid of a bad smell. I had all four doors and the tailgate open a few times over the course of a couple of days without actually starting the engine and going anywhere in it. Today I couldn't start it because the battery didn't have enough power to turn it over.
This is the second occurrence of this problem because I spent a lot of time last autumn valeting the car inside which means a lot of door opening/closing and resulting in the same situation - a flat battery. I called the LR support org on that occasion and the mobile guy tested everything to do with the battery and declared it healthy but did warn me that he gets a lot of calls to RRs with flat batteries after valeting.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and are the batteries that weak they can't deal with this kind of situation? It's coming up for three years old and I would like to know if I have a duff battery before it's warranty runs out.

I inadvertently left the ignition switched on on my L322 the other day for a few hours and the next day it was noticeably slow to turn over. Battery is fairly new and properly sized (135Ah iirc). So yes, not locking the car up and putting it to sleep does drain the battery. Even my old P38 used to do it.Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
