Military Defender
Discussion
Hi,
a few questions pertaining to military Defenders, hopefully some of you can answer these definitively...
1 Do any 2.5 naturally aspirated diesels remain in service?
2 Where is/are the battery / batteries located on 300TDi engined 12V and 24V versions respectively?
3 Is the immobilisers installation omitted on military 300TDi engines?
4 Does the EDC on 300TDi engines have an OBD interface?
cheers

2: as far as I know there are no 12v 300tdi defenders in army service, there may be a few in raf service. The vehicle batteries are all located under the passenger seat. If it is a FFR or fitted for radio vehicle it will have space for another 4 radio batteries in the back, just behind the rear bulkhead.
3+4: only engine electrics fitted to military land rovers is the fuel stop solenoid and if fitted the egr ecu.
I am an army mechanic and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask
