Land Rover Wolf 90 300Tdi
Discussion
Compared to the pre-wolf military land rovers, there is actually more than a visual difference between the wolf and a normal 300tdi land rover. The electrics for example are 24v meaning something like a wiper motor is now worth something like £200 if you can find one. The chassis is strengthened and braced so is a lot stronger than a normal land rover, also the rear body has stronger cross bracing. The interior is very basic although they do have at least got standard seats rather than foam blocks! They don't seem to suffer from as much chassis rust but the bulkheads do still rust in the normal places, footwell a and top corners. Most if not all will be on their second engine if not more. There will be a lot of 90's released onto the market as they have been deemed no longer useful, some are being rebuilt onto 110 chassis but a fair few will be sold.
Not tweaked at all I'm afraid, all the replacement engines we get are run on an engine dyno before they come to us and they have the results on them, most sit around 100bhp rather than the 111bhp it should be!
Don't get me wrong if I was offered one for a similar price to a civvy defender id have one, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have one.
The old adage of military motors being better cared for is very outdated these days!

Just a conversation I was recalling from a long time ago. Was certain there's something different under the bonnet, just can't remember what.
