No clue why tbh. One company built a factory with the intention, once it was up and running, for it to be under local management.

Part way through the build, they discovered that, metaphorically speaking, the engineers building it were moonlighting and on nights nicking all the technology / intellectual property and building an identical factory in parallel not that far away.

The Chinese are renowned for stealing and copying IPR. However, with cars, the locals do at least know what is a st copy and what is the real thing. As said on another forum 'It hasn't affected Rolex sales much'!
