Am debating fitting a TVR 500 engine into my RRC, my question is do I need to change the camshaft for something less aggressive (the engine is obviously from a manual car and my classic is an auto) any thoughts?

Speak to the boys here - http://www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk/
their LSE has a 450 tvr engine in and a customer has a 5 litre supercharged one in his.
I think Lichfield cars in the day had TVR engines.

Assume by TVR engine you mean a Rover V8 from a TVR?

If so then it would be a good idea to replace the cam, especially if you're using an auto box, for something that gives more torque lower down the rev range.

I have a stage 3 4.6 Rover V8 in my 2 door classic, using one of V8 Developments MC1 cam shafts coupled to a manual box. Pulls like a train and I can put it in 5th gear at 20mph should I feel the need.

The Lloyd Special Developments stuff looks great, their LSE looks like a lot of fun! It's possibly worth giving V8Dev a call too, for a different opinion.

What induction and engine management do you plan to use and which exhaust system?

Indeed which exhaust system? I have a 90 with a standard 3.5 V8 on carbs and it definitely needs to sound more like a V8! Camshaft may be half the battle though, as I believe the one in there is quite a "soft" one related to the lower-compression engines used by the military?
