1. I paid £22,800+vat for a black xs 90 back in Oct 2012
2. Mine has been sound build wise
3.lookers Colchester for me purchased several land rovers over the phone and been 100% happy with the service and value. Ask for Alexander Everitt and mention chris from Derbyshire
4.pitched my local dealers against each other for servicing to keep book stamped up by a franchise dealer

RE: Discounts

Ask yourself this: If you were a dealer, selling a car where demand far outstrips supply... Would you be offering a discount? Especially when you can probably get full list price from the next person to walk through your door!!

Frankly, you might as well buy at list and strike a deal on the servicing.

Yes but discounts are there. I'd sooner get 7-8% discount.

With all due respect don't listen to Camel Landy

Call a few dealers ask them what they have in stock see if you can do a deal

Call your local dealer too and see what they can offer. You will have your best deals to hand so you can choose.

Despite all the hype there is stock available and if you are willing to wait you can have a car built to order

I personally know of 4 separate orders all from main dealers. Lowest discount 6% best 10%

Cynically I love how dealers try to talk the market up with tales of such high demand etc

Thanks for the advice folks especially shan..........two things:I understand defenders have a 3 yr warranty....what about paint is that just 3 years as well and is the chassis just three years? Also reading stuff on the net including this forum, there apears to be a rumour that landrover are not honouring orders as the factory is tooling up for special editions? This sounds like twadlle but does anyone have a definitive answer?thanks again. well said - and right.
i've recently bought (63 reg) at 10% discount.but generally about 9%.

as also said, for servicing, ring the next two closest dealers for price, and persuade
local dealer to match, or get very near.they probably will.

best of luck.

I've just ordered a 110 Utility Wagon for September delivery with a 9% discount (went through a broker who gets you 10% but then charges you 1% for doing the deal)

No talk from garage about them not honouring the order (yet anyway)

I'm also looking to order a 90 XS soon and have had array of different prices. Some dealers aren't even interested in selling me one! I guess they would rather sell a 80k Range Rover.

Brokers are stating they offer 10% off list so will probably go down this route.

Looks ok, the opening gambit from the local LR dealer for a 110 xs utility with towbar and rubber mats no carpet

was 32,310 sure I can do a fair bit better than that though, i think thats plain list.

research says the supa guard is 20 quids worth of lotion and a quick rub down by an east european car washer, and 500 quid in the back pocket of the salesman..
