How do I get a new RRS TDI V6?

A colleague is taking delivery of a new RRS TDI V6 next week for which he paid £51,500. However I can't find any listing of this model on the LR web site or any of the brokers' sites. The cheapest seems to be the SDV6 HSE at £61,500.

What's the story with this £51,500 model? Sounds too cheap to be true for a RRS.

TDV6 SE was an option. Both the TD and the SE have been dropped.

He ordered it last November and it has only just been delivered. He appears to be rather lucky then in getting a new shape RRS for £10k less than the SDV6.

Did LR actually launch and then discontinue the TDI within a year?

Could have launched with the cheaper option but more then likely the average order would be 60k /70k so dropped it after no orders for it. Plus I would think a full order book with a waiting list they would not want a to cheaper option.

My FIL had the same problem, they dropped the SE model, so he had to order the HSE for £60k+. He took delivery lady month. He's over the moon with it though, best car he's ever driven, coming from Lexus RX, previous version Range Rovers and X5.
