Range Rover Vogue Advice Please
Discussion
After two X5s on the trot we are looking to purchase a full fat Range Rover. 2011-2012 model up to 30k miles. Got some questions:
1. What are the common problems experienced with the 4.4 TDv8? What items should I ask about when going over a potential car?
2. How much are people paying for a Land Rover extended warranty on these things? On our X5 it was roughly £800 a year, hoping we are not talking silly money for a warranty on these cars.
3. Should I expect brake pad, discs to be replaced given the above mileage? How hard are these cars on brakes considering the sheer weight that needs stopping?
4. Can I expect to see somewhere in the region of 25mpg to 30mpg on a real world combined cycle?

Experienced user rather than professional response:
1. Nothing major that I am aware of. Had a few breathing issues (plastic boxes splitting) early on that were resolved under warranty.
2. Check the LR web site. It's between circa £1100 to £1200 pa dependent on whether you want LR rescue, which is very good in my experience. You can pay monthly without any additional charges.
3. Check the pad/disc wear and if they are low, then negotiate.
4. I do 90 miles of motorway and A roads each day at peak times and have averaged 31MPG over the last 10,000 miles, so yes 25-30 is perfectly reasonable.
Which model are you considering? Remember the Westminster is based on the Vogue, and the Vogue SE has better leather.
