Hi, Time to refresh my suspension on my 91 range rover, its a non air suspension car.

At the moment it feels very very wooden !! thinking of either replacing the suspension with Bilstein b6's or standard, does anyone have a view ?

Thanks

Phib

I have Bilstein's on one of mine, they give a firm ride, however I have a list of other suspension modifications that also contribute to this feel.

It depends what sort of use your classic will see...

I am planning on using it on the road mainly as I have a defender for farm duties.

Been thinking about 235 / 70 /16's if they will fit and then potentially heavy standard springs with either a standard height or -1 inch.

Want to keep it fairly standard, have a set of 20' inch silverlines (Twisted) but think they will go on the defender or get sold) rather than the range rover. 18's look perfect but I think 20's will be too big

Ride at the moment is wooden and want to stop that but not have too much roll.

Thanks

Phib

PS Your csk ironically is whats made me get mine back on the road !! Looks fantastic

You could try some Fox - Prolinx offer them as bolt-on fit for Defender. Pretty sure the Prolinx engineer can valve them to suit your needs and tweak them further once you've driven the car a bit and got used to it.

Bilsteins every time on a road going Rangie. I RTV trialled one over ten years ago and could not fault them they were very well made. I then fitted them to my defender and ran them for ten years. There were as a good then as they were new. Highly recommended.
I used my defender to tow my Bowler. The Bowler did have Foxs on but they were for a different application and way over specced for your use.
