I have had an 03 Rangie from new now with starship miles on it (225k miles...and still going). This car has wanted for nothing and is in fab nick.

In peoples experience, what are the common faults with this vehicle of this age and mileage...just trying to get a handle on what could be coming up next expense wise? Looking forward to a scary list smile

TBH at that mileage I think you're probably past all the "common" faults (aren't the gearboxes of that era supposed to be a little delicate?) so I would just carry on enjoying it and keep an ear out for any unusual noises!

Yup, its had a new gearbox, and radiator...and importantly OEM foam inside drivers seat cushion since it was starting to show signs of 'collapse' wink .....no expense spared!

I think as already has been said you've got passed most things and just enjoy the car if its a good one.

Just out of interest, how many gearboxes has it gone through and do you ever change the gearbox oil?

As far as I know the engines are supposed to be bulletproof with regular servicing and although I'm no technical expert there is an updated crankcase breather that should be fitted but that's already been done I would imagine at that mileage.

Listening to yours at that mileage, my 89000 miler has got a lot of life left in it!

It's had just the one gearbox, Gearbox oil checked, but will get the folks who look after it (Graham Goodyear) to change it at the next service. I do more frequent oil and filter changes than just at service intervals. Had all injectors changed, and the air compressor. Just had the pump that moves fuel from one side of the saddle shaped fuel tank to the other replaced, Want to get all the alloy's shot blasted and re painted....then she would look like a Rangie with under 90k on the clock. She drives great...smile
