Morning all,

I'd like to get my Range Rover Classic radio repaired, can anyone recommend either any fixes I may be able to DIY, or anywhere I can send it to get it sorted? (I really don't want to put an aftermarket unit in if I can help it).

The radio is totally frozen once it's switched on, unresponsive to any buttons (just sits on 142MHz setting), and there is no sound apart from very occasional white noise through the speakers. The tape player doesn't work, either.

Any suggestions greatly received smile

The sets in the Classic are Clarion.
Have a look here:

You could have a look round this site

http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/radiolcd....

You'll see references to Roverville, who I've used before to repair old Land Rover radio's, but the links seem to just take you to a Chinese website which means nothing to me.

Good luck.

Hi David, I think we spoke in the week - tun98 error on my soft dash. Err any tricks to getting the damn thing out of the dash? I've fiddled around with the 2 little holes but it really doesn't want to come out!
I could just bring it up to you - you might get bored just seeing the headunits not the car too wink

Thank you all for your suggestions, most helpful. It's now parked for the next couple of weeks while I'm away, so I'll pursue further in due course smile Anyway, a V8 soundtrack is not one I mind listening too.

This is the chap who'll fix old Rangie stereos: http://www.gb4x4radios.com/uk.html

Nice bloke. Got one just like yours that needs to be posted to him at some point.

Re removing the unit, I just went into Ebay and bought a set of clarion keys for a few pounds.

You can get a jack plug fitted at the same time.

Are they the PC5-108 keys?

Good question!

I haven't got them to hand so I'm afraid I can't check.

It was the chap from that website who originally confirmed which ones I needed.

I'll see if I can dig out an ebay receipt.

You pull off the outer trim and keys are full sized, both sides at the same time.
