Further to my post last week about a long brake pedal & without mentioning names (slightly shortened so I don't bore you all), I took my RR to a Main dealer for an Oil service and agreed to a brake fluid change. During the service, I was told that they have noticed a pretty major leak coming from the back of the engine and that the rear suspension was leaking hydraulic fluid. I expressed surprise as the car is parked on paved area of the drive every night and there is zero evidence of any type of leak, furthermore my understanding was the RR had air suspension! I wasn't too worried as I had recently extended the warranty for a year - the service guy was unaware of this and sounded surprised when I told him.
Anyway, fast forward a day and I was then told that actually there weren't any leaks!! I pushed for an explanation but was simply told he was going off the report from the mechanics, and that the leak from the suspension was actually from a shock absorber but it didn't need replacing.
So I pick the car up and drive home. The brakes felt a bit funny but just put that down to the fact I had been driving a Freelander courtesy car and was re-adjusting again to the RR. Next morning, brakes still don't feel right, the pedal was very soft and I was having to almost push the pedal to the floor to stop. I speak to the service guy and he suggests I should bring the car back for them to check, which I do. Result is that they had either forgotten or hadn't properly bled the brakes when they changed the fluid. At which point I go nuts - they are apologetic but I leave feeling very angry and concerned that I could have been ferrying kids around with faulty brakes caused by incompetence from the Dealer.
Anyway, result is, the car is now fine and works as it should but a number of people who I have told the story to think I am crazy not to take it further. Dealer Principle is supposed to call me today to 'discuss' the problems, as he wasn't there when this all occured.
So the question is, do I just chalk this up as a bit of a pain and no real harm done other than a bit of hassle, or drag the DP over hot coals? My annoyance is two fold - I think the brake problem is unacceptable and totally avoidable. The issue re Oil leak and Suspension is a bit of a grey area as no works were actually carried out but it just felt like they were trying to add work to the service and backed off when they discovered I had a warranty? Is that likely? The reality is that even if I complain, I probably won't get anywhere and may just create a load of hassle for myself. Just interested in the thoughts of others.
Thanks in advance

I would complain in the strongest terms, not bleeding the brakes properly is a major issue and I'd want to be satisfied that the mechanic is disciplined and that no such thing could happen again. I would expect a gesture from the dealer along the lines of a free service for my time and trouble.
Hmmm. Brakes not being bled after a fluid change is incompetence at best, dangerous at worst.
The old 'extra work sir', is just how it is, but a word with the DP to say you will not put up with 'phishing' like that again.
I took my car in for the ole Haldex issue on my FL2. Service dept called my back to tell my what I had already told them that it needed a new oil pump. Anyway, the requirement to go ahead with the £650 was gratefully received by service advisor, who queried if I would indeed be happy to pay. At which point I asked WTF can't the system show it is on a LR warranty. Anyway, I bet LR won't pay them £650 through the warranty claim!.....
