Hi,

Does anyone know what the current lead times are on a new RRS HSE? Getting conflicting info from various dealers some saying 6 months some 9 months and one who said lead times are now just 4 months. They all laughed when I asked for a discount - these have been out 2 years now is the market still as hot as they are making out to be?

I have had to wait 5 months for a revised engine HSE Dynamic, it comes early April, also told NO discount, I have a 2015 MY HSE Dynamic old engine, and have a fairly solid trade in price so residuals are holding up ok on used cars, I guess you can't expect big discounts and solid residuals, I expect the market to soften as the year progresses

Put yourself in the position of the dealer... If these things are selling themselves and order books are maxed out, discount??? Seriously???

I know a chap who works for TATA consultancy services also known as TCS - he is allowed one Jag or LR car a year @ 20% discount! Lucky wker redface

No discount, lead times around 6 months. My dads took 6 months from September 2013 to March 2014, and the times haven't changed much. That's good news for residuals though! Will probably get another next March.

I ordered last month and been told May hopefully. No discount but good deal on servicing pack or insurances. The residuals seem very strong so happy with that. A mate ordered an Evoque at the same time and no discount and April delivery.

I think you'll find it's 'Up to 20%'...

It's unlikely he'll get the full 20% on anything new to market. wink

HSE Dynamic:

Local dealier: Ordered placed in Jan, delivery quoted for June/July
Phoned around, found a cancelled order which I could change spec, delivery is early April. Nailed on.

re discounts. I'm told the longer the wait you can see up to 8%. The premise being a wait of more than 6 months, more like 12 months and you would see up to 8% off list.

I'm afraid you are incorrect ;-) He is not allowed the 20% off for the first 6 months of a car's launch but then he is allowed to order. He picked up a new vogue at 20% discount sold it the year later and bought a RRS @ 20% discount - he is allowed one car a year - basically a new car every year without any depreciation whatsoever - better than a company car!

Great point re discounts vs residuals. I'd rather have the latter (personally).

and I'm paying for this!

should not be allowed to sell and make a profit off the back of Land Rover owners - plus bet he gets lots of 'options' foc?

there should be a 'payback' scheme similar to that applied to those buying council houses at a discount

I used to deal with a company that made very high end 'goods' - staff were allowed to buy 'seconds' at a large discount

this was stopped when it was found that staff were deliberately found to be 'making seconds'!

Try https://www.select-automotive.com

Ordered my defender with 10% discount no questions. Dealers were rubbish at providing any good discounts.

Worth a try. They were quoting Range Rovers too etc not sure what the discount was though if any.

Update: Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I found a cancelled order at a dealer! Brand new unregistered car with a spec very close to what I wanted! Being sold to me at list price which is crazy when you look at the prices of some ex demos! Can pick up straight away but I have decided to wait for March 1st so that it can be registered on the new reg smile
