Hello everyone.
I am after some help. I have posted on a land rover forum but pistonheads is full of knowledgable people so Im going to ask on here to.
My father has a 54 plate discovery 3 TDV6 auto. It has a issue that must be connected to the steering. I have had a Google but can't find any answers so hopefully somebody on here can help.
There are 2 problems, the first is when you turn (mainly left) around a quite sharpe corner, when not going fast at all the traction control kicks in, you can feel it through the accelerator pedal and the traction control light comes on. The speed does not warrant traction control.
And the second problem is that the steering is very twitchy. Minor corrections such as if a car coming in the other direction is abit closer to the middle of the road, normal driving would be to move slightly over to the ditch just incase. But the land rover twitches and you find yourself having to do a quick correction to move away from the ditch, makes a very nervous drive.
Both these faults happen at low speeds, such as 20 mph.

The Land Rover has been taking to a land rover specialist, plugged in etc but nothing found.
It first happened when my sisters ex boyfriend was driving the car and took a roundabout as if he was driving a F1 car and all the dash lights lit up like a Xmas tree.

Any my help or advice would be great.

thanks in advance.

I'd be tempted to look at the wheel bearings & cv joints.

I have a 54 D3.

I had similar issues and it was the lower steering column that was going stiff.

Got a new one fitted and the issue went away.

Jack the car up, support on a stand and give the front wheel a shake, if it wobbles, your wheel bearing is going.

Has it had nay suspension work done in the past, either from you or a previous owner?
