Went to see a series III single cab pickup and found the bulkhead and chassis in a pretty dire state. Of more concern was being unable to really lift my leg to work the clutch.

Am I likely to have the same problems in the 90 and Defender? Otherwise it'll have to be a ford ranger or something of that ilk.

If they're single cabs, yeah. I'm 6'4" and don't fit. You'll be ok in a van version probably. I'm 6'4" and can't drive single cabs frown

Cheers Lefty I feared that might be the case.

I'm 6'4" and used to have a truck cab SIII which was fine. Now have a D90, albeit with a full body although surely the bulkhead is in the same place, and I'm fine with that too - at least, I was when I went out in it this morning!

there are options to remove or reduce the height of the intermediate bulkhead as seen in both lengths of station wagon

Indeed, but those would be rather draughty in a truck cab!

Did you try an SWB or an LWB? Rear bulkhead position is different between them.

Didn't know the cabs were different. Both my SIII and the 90 were/are SWB. As mentioned, I'm 6'4, 15 st (on a good day!), 34" inside leg and 44" chest and on standard seats I don't find it cramped - sure, it's a different seating position from a regular hatchback, but not uncomfortable. I often go on 2hr + round trips in mine.

The difference between 88" and 109" is explained here: http://mud4fun.com/2013/08/13/truck-cab-mounting-r...
I'm not sure if 90 and 110 rear bulkheads are different. They look pretty similar; and the shape is closer to the 109".

i'm not sure that they are different ... the length difference is in the rear tub between 88",
'90' and long wheel base
