Posting for a friend who is looking at buying a second hand Evoque.

He is open to buy any year up to 15,000 miles. I have heard a lot about reliability and gearbox issues what are the facts behind this?

Also what has the facelift, engine update, major update schedule been from release to 2016?

He had been offered a high spec 16 plate for around £35k from main dealer, I have also seen competitive lease deals from around £270 a month.

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I have little knowledge on the Evoque, Thanks.

I just bought a brand new March 2017 £43.7k SD4 High spec Dynamic for £36.5k. Not sure why you'd buy second hand for £35k.

As for facelift, Just google.. different engines etc

Dealership. They were doing a 'Black Friday' special, but I can't believe that was anything other than a marketing ploy. Of course I'll have to wait over 3 months, so if your friend wants one now, then second hand is the way to go.

Cosmetically the facelift is minor, but as stated, new engines, so that needs a bit of investigation.

Was that an MY16 or MY17 - the difference being the newer car has the new widescreen navigation system?

17... it has the H.U.D. Build date 3.2.17

ETA The 'Black Friday' deal gave an extra £4k off, only on HSE Dynamics (along with the usual deductions), how much spin there was in this I don't know, but looked like a damn good deal to me.

You did very well. I bought an MY17 to my own spec and managed 11% off...
