not sure if anyone else has had an issue with there range rover sport 2011, Its started allowing me to push the button down, electrics all come on but it doesn't fire! could take 2 pushes or could take 20 pushes! foots on the break and I'm doing everything correctly! has this happened to any one else! I'm very frustrated and confussed!

I'd suggest checking the brake sensor - sounds like its detecting the button press ok but acting as if the brake pedal isnt pressed. So check adjustment / position/ functionality of brake sensor.

My Audi was doing this, they replaced the handbrake motor under warranty and it has been fine since.

See the health/capacity of the battery. Some cars require a battery health/capacity of around a minimum of 75% for stop start to work. Charge the old one overnight and try it in the morning. If that doesn't work, try a new battery.
