RR Autobiography 4.4 V8 petrol advice please
Discussion
Shortly buying this 2005 motor to be used only for a monthly round trip London / Devon. It's coming to me serviced and MOT,d. Anything I should be looking to do to maximise fuel consumption ( I know it will be a nightmare ) Would premium fuel make sense ? I don't mind plodding along at 65 , ( journey is always overnight ) Car is coming with " shooting" tyres fitted and seller advising me to get shot of these. How much am I looking at for new set of ordinary ? I imagine an annual service at a good independent ? Any other thoughts would be welcome so many thanks in advance.

I picked up one if these last Friday just in time for a week travel from Dublin to West of Ireland for a week holiday. It is replacing 13 years of Jaguar 4.0 XJs so fuel economy for me is relative to these cars.
I drove as normal, 80 on motorway, numerous overtakes then a lot of B road travel out west. Covered 800 miles over the week of which 400 was the motorway commute from and back to Dublin. Averages 21mpg on motorway at 80, will get up to 26 at 60mph. B road driving showed 17mpg which I thought was good but all this is OBC reading. I will calculate when refilling. I filled twice at €125 a time and have a quarter of the 90L tank left.
Tyre wise i have Pirelli Scorpions costing €200 a corner and they seem good but I have only had the car a week and on these tyres only.
I don't know if this helps but what I can say is that RR are a great long distance cruiser, so much space, the Jag V8 is effortless with great overtaking power.

Are you planning to drive off road? if so, you may wish to consider keeping the 'Shooting Tyres' if not, then the Pirelli Scorpion Verde are good. www.blackcircles.com usually offers a very competitive price. Mine are 21" and they have just cost 170GBP per corner.Werdnassab
Use a good LR specialist for servicing as not only will they be cheaper than the main dealer, but also better. I would also get a Specialist to inspect the car before purchasing.
