I’m rewriting an e-book on the Rover V8 engine. I want to cover, amongst other things, engines with carburetors. To this end I’m after photographs of Land Rover engines with carbs.

What I need are high quality images of carbs in situ and removed, even in bits if you have them. For every image I use I will send a free book to the person submitting (one per contributor) and, if required, will endorse as to source the image in the book and carry a link to whatever you want on my website. You will be sent a copy of any new edition.

Any information or anecdotes gratefully received as well.

PM in the first instance.

Derek

Hi Derek,
Hope these are of interest, I've also emailed a friend who has a factory UK-spec Ninety with 3.5 V8 to ask them to take photos.

3528cc 8.13:1 compression ratio Rover V8 from 1973 Range Rover installed in my Bowler - twin Stromberg CDS175 carburetters.

Later with 3947cc 9.35: compression ratio Rover V8 in the same vehicle with twin SU HIF6 carburetters

I was using the OEM air filter box as a plenum and the hose runs to a seperate air box containing the filter element.

This meant that it wasn't afraid of water...it hadn't got to the deep bit in either of these photographed water crossings
