I'd guess not, I'm having a similar issue with insurance...

Got a quote for a Range Rover HSE Autobiography edition last year when I was looking around and it was somewhat reasonable, decided to get a Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE instead and assumed the prices were something similar, wrong! The Discovery is £250+ more expensive! 50% increase on the Range Rover and the insurance provider can't (or won't) tell me why. To top it off, they'd put me on a limited mileage policy of 6000miles p/a as well.

Try Chubb, insure ours and didn't need a tracker at all.

It's ridiculous that LR only fit a CAT 6 when all the insurance company's want CAT 5. I have no intention on fitting another tracker to the car.
Try NFU.

Phib who do you use to get the Chubb quote? tia.

Norwich Union, sorry Aviva will accept it, fair price to. Really pi**es me of that Zurich (been with donkeys) with who I have a policy for all my other cars demand CAT6 and double the Aviva price...

We recently took on a 2015 RRS and simply switched cars within our BeWiser policy from our previous Disco4. There's no mention of the Landrover In Control Secure Tracker, but I did state (when asked) that it had a manufacturers standard / fitted alarm, immobiliser and tracker system. They were OK with that and didn't ask for any more detail.

Ironically I had more of an issue with the 7-day drive away when I bought the damn thing. Dealer handed the phone to me to talk through the details while he went to get a coffee, and the nice lady on the phone asked whether it had a Land Rover blah blah blah or a Land Rover blah blah blah. That floored me as I had no idea and the sales guy hadn't told me. Insurance LAdy said without that information they couldn't insure me, and that was LR Insurance.

changing the subject slightly .. taking mine to salisbury plain on sunday but my insurance doesn't cover off road. Are there companies who would just insure the off road part?

Got to say if I was in the business of insuring Land Rovers I wouldn't touch any with keyless entry.
Lots going missing still, they don't seem to worry about trackers either.

Land Rover Insurance. They have their own insurance company. If they won’t cover you then you’re really out of luck.

It depends on the value of the vehicle

I’ve got the standard RR one and it’s an absolute bag of sugar. Constantly droppIng off the network and RR having to reset it.

Essentially catagory 6 is the same standard as fleet tracking.

My last insurer wanted cat 5 so fitted a tracker branded one

Ironically Aviva don’t want one now as it’s value has dropped below the threshold

Never had a problem covering mine with only the In-Control Tracker fitted and active. Currently with Direct Line.

NFU do mine (£47k value) with no tracker for under £300 fully comp, protected no claims.

Thread bump. Today I was trying to insure my incoming 2015 RRS with Direct Line who I currently insure with. They require an S5 to S6 Thatcham approved alarm fitting. Contacted dealer (franchised) to see if it is fitted with one I can activate but not heard a sausage. Don’t collect car till Wednesday this week. What have others used/fitted?

The number of Range Rovers I see parked with 1980’s style steering locks is staggering. What a faff, i couldn’t be dealing with that hassle.

A lot of the house burglaries I attend after the fact to fit cctv and security, the vast majority are primarily to steal keys for either a transit custom, a range rover of some description or a golf r.
Last one I was at they left the more valuable bentayga and taken the range rover.
