Its a 2013 model with 40K miles on the clock. LR dealer cost to replace is £5k specialist is £3.3k. Disappointed as its not exactly old. My fathers had the same thing but his is a 2015 and covered by warranty where as mine is not!

If you are looking for a Transfer box i work for a Britpart dealer.

If you have the registration or chassis number i work out a supply only price on a transfer box.

Then just looking for someone to fit it

Get onto Land Rover customer services.

Surely they should be putting towards that as it’s not a high mileage car.

Its a good point but its already with an indie and the parts have been ordered. The earliest the LR dealer could fit me in was 2 weeks time.

God this is appalling. Why did you roll over and let LR win? I'd have been camped outside the main gated making my displeasure known.

Why can't LR get these things right!! The best 4x4xfar....when it works.

I'd be angered if the transfer box on my D3 went, but that has done 182k and is 14 years old, let alone the height of luxury 4x4 that's only a few years old.

Everytime I think LR have turned a corner I hear some more owners woes.

I give it three years and D5 owners will bd complaining of electronic folding seats failing.

I will be writing to them but couldn't wait weeks to get it sorted plus I'm travelling Asia at the moment which doesn't make it easy. It would make me think twice when I come to replace it but what are the alternatives really.

If you don’t mind me asking, what where the symptoms, did the l405 just stop completely, did lights come up on the dash etc etc?

Understood. Its difficult to argue the case remotely. My wife's car recently broke down and she literally drove it into the nearest Kwik-Fit. They were a ;little questionable, but she was the in the garage with a three month old and toddler in the car, so difficult to argue the case with what ever calls she makes.
