I signed a form to say if I sold mine in the first 12 months I'd give the dealer first refusal. (I didn't have to but had no problem, having waited nearly a year I'm in no mood to sell).

In the past 6 months they'd seen two they had sold going for silly over list money.

Genuine question, what motivates someone to be so desperate for one they are prepared to pay a substantial premium? Is it all to do with image ultimately and if you have the cash you just aren't concerned what it costs (up front or the inevitable depreciation). I like cars as much as the next pistonheader, but am genuinely fascinated by the thinking behind this sort of thing. It can't be desperation for a car from a basic transport need as might be the case if all cars were hard to come by, so it must be something closer to 'showing off/one upmanship' for want of a better term.

Not sure why the manufacturers don’t make their pricing more flexible upwards as well as downwards. If their waiting lists are so long, surely that is a reason to price up their cars?

My P440e plug in hybrid has been delayed for a month or two ( probably 5 ), and during the call on Tuesday telling me this, also informed me that model year 23 commences 1st August and the price has increased by £5k.

My dealer is only being allocated 35 of these a year and ordering now its over 2 years wait.

Its the same with the new Range Rover sport. They have orders for their next 2 years of allocations.

I guess if you really want one now and cash isn't an issue, paying overs is the route you shall have to take.

I would be somewhat annoyed if I had to pay £5000 more because of their imposed delay.

Sounds like JLR are running thier business poorly when they can't meet demand to such a degree, and a secondary market of dealers are sweeping up the profits. I understand there are component shortages, but they ae leaving a lot of money out there.

2 years wait is incredible for a ‘standard’ Range Rover. If the market is pricing them 30k over list, LR themselves could probably raise the list price that much and sell every car they can build.

I don't think Vogue trim features in the new model line-up. It's now SE, HSE, SV etc.
