Got it thanks. I’d assumed they were dealerships demonstrators.

Still ridiculous prices imo. How long’s the wait for a new order?

They’re hybrid vehicles which surely helps? I wouldn’t be paying anything like those asking prices though.

In a free market economy - can’t they advertise cars for sale at whatever price they like ?

Why not new cars ? I can understand if it has been ordered and paid for in advance by a customer but any stock is up them surely ? If a property developer builds 100 houses and sells 90 off plan for 100k each and the market has moved on during the build time, surely they can sell the remaining 10 for whatever they want : whatever the market will bear. 0ver 100k. Likewise, if the market has reversed, they may reduce the remaining houses to below 100k each in order to shift them. Why can’t new car sellers do the same ? I don’t get it.

Because the builder built them, and isn't a franchise sales and service organisation with a detailed contract with the car builder, who don't want to see the customer base annoyed.

My identical to both examples 1950 mile 510e First Edition is being traded back to my main dealer the first week in March as my new car arrives then.

Wonder what they shall offer?

On a footnote we have owned it since September and it has been an absolute fantastic first dabble into the Range Rover world.

Thanks - now I get it, it has more to do with their distributor contract than market forces. Cheers
