Range Rover L405 tailgate won't close with key button

But it's fine with the dash button.

Also when I try to open it with the key it opens only as far as a previous stop point that I set. On the dash button it opens fully.

When I try to close it with the key it either bleeps 3 times and may close the second time, or opens a bit more, then a bit more and it may then close on the key button.

Any ideas chaps please?

Silly question but have you tried unplugging the batteries for a total reset?

No.

An update however. I gave the job to my teenage son to do and it now works. I didn't ask what he did.

I plan on gradually abdicating my role as man of the house and allowing him to take over.
