My wife wants to replace her 9YO Disco 4 with a new Disco 5. There are plenty around but I wonder if out timing might be off and she might be better waiting a bit? Is there a Disco 6 about to be launched next year? The dealer we spoke to was a bit uncertain, but presumably just wanted us to buy a stock vehicle! biggrin

Rumor has it the D6 might end up being closer to an Allroad than a full sized Disco.

I dion't think a D5 will be a bad buy now at all. Sometimes Land Rover do miss the mark and there was a surge in demand for the D4 when the D5 launched as the D5 didn't quite hit the mark.....However, the D5 is vastly superior vehicle to the D4 in many ways. We could see history repeat its self with the launch of the D6.

The D350 and P350 engines are well regarded too.

My gut feel is the D6 will be broadly similar to the D5, but it will gain the PHEV tech from the RRS and that should be enough to take it to the end of the ICE age.

My guess is the D6 will have to offer an EV only version and my guess is that will be a D6 body on the FFRR EV chassis/skateboard.

I do fear a little for Land Rover though. I don't think that have ever been in a good position for a transition to full EV...which is a shame as I think RRS PHEVs are quite good and I wished I had bought one instead of my D5.

I think they are basically hoping the government will extend the deadline by another five to 10 years.
