Looking for a new dog bus, and find myself flicking between the Discovery 5 and the new Defender, however, most Defenders that I’m seeing with the County Pack don’t seem to have air suspension.

Should I be seeing air suspension as a requirement? I’ve seen talk of them being potentially too tall for multi-storey car parks, but if that’s the only negative then I might be willing to drop it.

Happy to hear people’s thoughts.

I drove my Defender to Central Asia and back and the air suspension worked faultlessly and the comfort levels were remarkable. I didn’t have much need for multi story car parks but the lift came in handy more times than I can remember.

Test drove both back to back down one of the worst roads I could find, ordered the air suspension. Arrives in July.

Thank you.

Was the standard suspension that bad in comparison?

I wouldn't say bad, but you felt plenty of bumps, knocks, and crashes on what was the worst road I know in Nottingham; the air just soaked them up and weren't as noticeable.

All good thank you--apart from a cracked windscreen biggrin

I had an oil and filter change as soon as I'd picked it up, it was on 18,000 miles and was last serviced at 9,500, so hopefully if I keep a similar oil change interval going the engine won't eat itself.

But yeah, all good and enjoying wafting around biggrin
